361 | Mulatto Creole ”, according to Boucher, born in Bourbon on March 5, 1680, he is the son of Julien Robert and Perrine Campelle. He was married to Marguerite Colin on September 8, 1694, when he was only fourteen years old himself (usually it is rather the wife who is hardly marriageable). Brave son, Pierre Robert lives with his family and helps them as best they can. When his father was sent on vacation to the galleys of the King, he provided for the needs of his family, particularly his mother, before acquiring land in Rivière-du-Mât in 1701. The crop records of the Compagnie des Indes show that work pays because the income from "housing" is quickly substantial: 70 oxen, 30 pigs, 2,000 pounds of rice in 1708 ... But this hard worker certainly did not want to die without descendants, so he worked he, with the same ardor as that which he displayed in the fields, to give eleven children to his wife, ten of whom were still living when she died in 1728. No doubt by virtue of the exception which confirms the rule, the household founded by Pierre Robert seems flawless, without history. Boucher couldn't think of a term flattering enough to praise these people: “Honest man. Filled with honor yet without education. Very hardworking and understanding. A good carpenter and well capable of running a household as well as a dwelling. His is very large and he works on it with two of his brothers and his children. We cannot see a union more accomplished than the one that is in this household ". Barassin is astonished by these praises to Pierre Robert, pointing out that Boucher says worse than hanging Robert, Jean and Etienne, his brothers. The Reverend Father Fouettard supposes that Boucher was well received by Pierre Robert while the others were reluctant to his authority. But Barassin's assumptions are not supported by anything.
