Email from Archives: "Genealogical research is also done by consulting parish registers, which contain information about baptisms, weddings and deaths. These registers aren’t online, people have to come to the archives in Sion to see them. For your information, the registers for the parish of Sion date as far back as 1669, but no further."
- Maudave's family was famous in Belgium from the fourteenth century. The last descendant of the Counts of Maudave married, around 1665, the Chevalier de Féderbe, Ambassador to Switzerland, who obtained authorization to join that of Maudave to his name.
