    • Pierre Montocchio is the first member of this family to settle on the island

      Pierre Montocchio was landowner in 1793 and 1794. He was a gunner in the National Guard of the canton of Flacq in October 1796. He also worked as a farmer. He was born in Bastia between 1756 and 1760. Married on January 8, 1798, in Flacq.

      Pierre Montocchio died on April 1, 1823, at the official age of 63, but certainly at the age of 65 or 66. He was buried in the cemetery of Saint Julien, Mauritius.
